Advanced Pain Centers is pleased to provide you information about the treatments we offer (click on the brochure image to download):

Algoline Catheter

This procedure is performed on patient’s who have Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and have not responded to lumbar sympathetic blocks or stellate ganglion blocks, post-herpetic neuralgia (shingle pain), cancer pain and postsurgical pain (post knee, hip, etc. surgery).

Interscalene Brachial Plexus Block

This procedure is performed to reduce the pain in the patient’s shoulder and upper arm which allows the surgeon and therapist to manipulate and rehabilitate the patient more effectively.

Caudal Steroid Injection

This injection procedure is performed to relieve low back and radiating leg pain. The steroid medication can reduce the swelling and inflammation caused by spinal conditions, such as spinal stenosis, radiculopathy, sciatica and herniated discs.

Cervical Epidural Steriod Injection

This injection is administered to relieve pain in the neck, shoulders, and arms caused by pinched nerve(s) in the cervical spine. Conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis or radiculopathy can compress nerves, causing inflammation and pain

Facet Joint Block Injection

Each vertebra in the spine is connected by two facet joints – one on each side of the spine. For back or neck pain believed to originate in these joints, a facet joint block can be both diagnostic and therapeutic.

Correct Fibromyalgia Diagnosis

Fibromyalgia & Facet Referral Patterns:  Do you have the correct diagnosis? Understand Fibromyalgia & Facet referral patterns & how they overlap.

Gray Ramus Communicans Nerve Block

This injection procedure is performed to relieve low back pain caused by discogenic pain. This procedure is usually performed when surgical intervention is not an option.

Greater Trochanter Injection

This injection procedure is performed to relieve trochanteric bursitis. Most patients with trochanteric bursitis will frequently complain of lateral hip pain that radiates down the leg, mimicking sciatica.

Hardware Injection

This injection procedure is performed on patient’s who have undergone a fusion and have had hardware placed. This procedure will  determine if the pain is originating from the hardware.

Intrathecal Pump

This procedure is performed to relieve pain or muscle spasm in patients whose pain has not been controlled with more conservative  therapies.

Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injection

This injection procedure is performed to relieve low back pain and radiating leg pain. The steroid medication can reduce the swelling and inflammation caused by spinal conditions.

Lumbar Pulsed Radiofrequency Neurotomy

Also called Pulsed radiofrequency (Pulsed RF) rhizotomy, this procedure is done to reduce or stop pain in the spinal facets. A slight low temperature (42°C) pulsed electric current is used to cut the nerves.

Lumbar Radiofrequency Neurotomy

Also called radiofrequency (RF) rhizotomy, this procedure is done to reduce or stop pain in the spinal facets. A slight electric current is used to cut the nerves serving the painful facet joints.

Lumbar Sympathetic Block

This procedure is done to relieve leg pain from Complex Regional Pain Syndromes, which may appear after an injury to a joint or limb.  Usually a series of these injections is needed to treat the problem.

Piriformis Muscle Injection

This injection procedure is performed to relieve buttock pain that may radiate into the back of the thigh and sometimes down the leg. A piriformis muscle injection is an injection directly into an area of the muscle that is chronically contracted or tense.

Prolotherapy

The treatment is useful for many different types of musculoskeletal pain, including arthritis, back pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia, sports injuries, unresolved whiplash injuries, chronic tendonitis, partially torn tendons, ligaments and cartilage and sacroilitis.

RACZ Catheter Lysis of Adhesions

Also called Lysis of Adhesions, this procedure is performed to remove excessive scarring in the epidural space otherwise inaccessible by normal epidural. The epidural space is a thin area between the inside of the spine and the protective layer around the spinal cord. Scar tissue may restrict the natural movement of nerves causing inflammation therefore creating pain.

L3 Radiculopathy

The nerve roots leaving the lower back serve the legs. When a lumbar nerve root becomes injured or inflamed some of the symptoms
include numbness, tingling weakness, burning or stabbing pain felt in the low back, buttocks, leg and foot.

Sacroiliac Joint Steroid Injection

[This injection procedure is performed to relieve pain caused by arthritis in the sacroiliac joint where the spine and hip bone meet.  The steroid medication can reduce the swelling and inflammation.

Selective Nerve Root Block

This procedure is performed to relieve low back and radiating leg pain. The steroid medication can reduce the swelling and inflammation caused by spinal conditions, such as spinal stenosis, radiculopathy, sciatica and herniated discs.

Stellate Ganglion Block

This injection can both diagnose and treat pain coming from the sympathetic nerves. It is a common treatment for shingles & Complex Regional Pain Syndromes affecting the head, face, neck or arms. Usually a series of these injections is needed to treat the problem.

Stellate Ganglion Injections for Hot Flashes

This injection can both diagnose and treat pain coming from the sympathetic nerves. It is a common treatment for shingles and Complex Regional Pain Syndromes affecting the head, face, neck, or arms. Usually one or more of these injections is needed to treat the hot flashes.

Stellate Ganglion Injection for Smoking Addiction

This injection can both diagnose and treat pain coming from the sympathetic nerves. Recent research has shown that cigarette smokers who suffer damage to the insular cortex, from a stroke for instance, have their addiction to cigarettes practically eliminated. The patients have been able to quit smoking easily, immediately without relapse or the urge to smoke.

Suprascapular Nerve Injection

This procedure is performed to relieve shoulder pain and/or capsulitis (frozen shoulder). Suprascapular nerve entrapment or injury can result from prolonged wearing of heavy backpacks/purses and direct blows to the suprascapular nerve that might occur in sports injuries (football, falls from trampoline, etc.).

Transforaminal Epidural Steroid Injection

This procedure is performed to relieve low back & radiating leg pain. The steroid medication can reduce the swelling & inflammation caused by spinal conditions, such as spinal stenosis, radiculopathy, sciatica & herniated discs.
